The Bund is regarded as the symbol of Shanghai for hundreds of years. It is an epitome of Shanghai's history. If you have never been to the Bund, then you have never been to Shanghai. The area lies on a section of Zhongshan Road (East-1 Zhongshan Road) within the former Shanghai International Settlement, which runs along the western bank of the Huangpu River in the eastern part of Huangpu District. The area along the river faces the modern skyscrapers of Lujiazui in the Pudong District. The most famous and attractive sight is the 26 various buildings of different architectural styles including Gothic, Baroque, Romanesque, Classicism and the Renaissance. The 1,700-meters (1,859 yards) long flood-control wall, known as 'the lovers' wall, located on the side of Huangpu River from Huangpu Park to Xinkai River and once was the most romantic corner in Shanghai in the last century. Standing by the railings, visitors can have a 'snap-shot' view of the scenery of Pudong Area and Huangpu River. Also, cruising on the Huangpu River is a traditional travel program in Shanghai. You will take a glimpse of Yangpu Bridge, Nanpu Bridge and Shanghai Oriental Pearl Tower on both sides.
The Oriental Pearl Tower (Pinyin: Dongfang MingZhuTa) [Back to Top]
The Oriental Pearl Tower is located in Pudong Park in Lujiazui, Shanghai. The tower is surrounded by the Yangpu Bridge in the northeast and the Nanpu Bridge in the southwest. It creates a picture of 'twin dragons playing with pearls'. The entire scene is a photographic jewel that excites the imagination and attracts thousands of visitors each year. The tower is also famous for its height (468 m/1535 feet, the 5th tallest tower in the world) and its shape. The tower consists of pearl shaped balls mounted on its base. Each one offers a sightseeing platform. The tower also includes the oriental pearl science fantasy world and the Shanghai municipal history museum. The aerial sightseeing corridor is the best place to enjoy a bird view of Shanghai city center. Visitors could look down on the world through the transparent glass floor. Also, the Revolving restaurant in the 2nd biggest ball is also a good place to see the night view of Shanghai.
Shanghai Museum (Pinyin: Shanghai BoWuGuan) [Back to Top]
The Shanghai Museum is a museum of ancient Chinese art, located at the People's Square in the Huangpu District of Shanghai, China. It is rebuilt at its current location in 1996 and considered one of China's first world-class modern museums. The museum has a collection of over 120,000 pieces, including bronze, ceramics, calligraphy, furniture, jades, ancient coins, paintings, seals, sculptures, minority art and foreign art. The Shanghai Museum houses several items of national importance, including one of three extant specimens of a 'transparent' bronze mirror from the Han Dynasty.

The Yuyuan Garden is the most famous garden in Shanghai. It is located in the heart of Shanghai's Old City, one of the few existent old tourist places in Shanghai. The Shanghai's bazaar, numerous small streets and lanes where vendors sell their products and food to the tourists and local people are close to the garden. It is called garden 'Yuyuan' - because 'yu' in Chinese means 'peace and health'- a place of peace and comfort in the heart of busy Shanghai. It can date back to the Ming Dynasty. Yuyuan Garden attracts a huge number of visitors at home and abroad each year.
Jade Buddha Temple (Pinyin:Yuchan Fosi) [Back to Top]
The Jade Buddha Temple is a Buddhist temple in Shanghai, China. As with many modern Chinese Buddhist temples, the current temple draws from both the Pure Land and Chan traditions of Mahayana Buddhism. It is built between 1911 and 1918 in the style of the Song Dynasty, with symmetrical halls and courtyards, upturned eaves, and bright yellow walls. There is a sitting Buddha (1.95 meters tall, 3 tonnes), and a smaller reclining Buddha representing the Buddha's death.
Nanjing Road (Pinyin: Nanjing Lu) [Back to Top]
The Nanjing Road is the main shopping street of Shanghai, China, and is one of the world's busiest shopping streets. Today's Nanjing Road comprises two sections, East Nanjing Road and West Nanjing Road. In some contexts, 'Nanjing Road' refers only to what was pre-1945 Nanjing Road. Before the adoption of the pinyin romanization in the 1950s, its name was rendered as Nanking Road in English.

The Xin Tian Di is located in the center of Shanghai City and south of Middle Huaihai Road. Shanghai Xin Tian Di has become an urban attraction that holds the historical and cultural legacies of the city. It is a fashionable pedestrian street composed of Shikumen and modern architecture style. Also, Xin Tian Di is unique because of its concept of construction. It retains the antique walls, tiles and exterior of the Shikumen housing of old Shanghai. On the other hand, its interior embodies a totally different world of international gallery, bars and cafes, boutiques or theme restaurants. When you walk into it, you will get the taste of both Shanghai in the 1920's and the modern sonic lifestyle of urbanites of the 21st century.
Shanghai Disney Resort (Pinyin:Shanghai Disini Dujiashengdi) [Back to Top]
The Shanghai Disney Resort, the first Disney theme park in mainland China, has been opened on June 16th, 2016. It’s located at Chuansha New Town in Pudong New Area. The whole park is like a world full of wonders and fantasies. It features six theme lands, respectively Mickey Avenue, Gardens of Imagination, Fantasyworld, Adventure Isle, Treasure Cove and Tomorrowland. Blending authentic Disney style and Chinese elements, this park gives visitors a brand-new experience. On the Mickey Avenue, Mickey and his friends welcome world guests. Princesses out of animated classics interact with visitors in the Enchanted Storybook Castle. Hengshan Road is Shanghai's largest bar zone that attracts a large contingent of both locals and visitors alike. French parasol trees, street partitions of European style, reddish brown sidewalks and villas tracing their origins to the 1920’s are embers of Shanghai’s decadent past. After nightfall, the neon-lit, beer-soaked neighborhood makes you want to linger longer, granted. Sasha is an authentic British country pub; lapis lazuli oozes neo-classic Chinese charms; Shi Guang Dao Liu (a trip back in time) is a throwback to the 1930s; Xiao Hong Lou (little red mansion) which blends both the Chinese and western elements attracts patrons with its elegant décor and soothing atmosphere. Known as the “Venice in Shanghai”, it is a well-preserved waterside ancient town. It was already a country fair as early as the Warring States Period, 1,700 years ago. During the Wanli years of the Ming Dynasty (1573-1617), with merchants flocking to the place and a growing population, it had become a prosperous town. There, we can still see the traces of the antique markets and streets of the Ming and Qing Dynasties. The antique buildings and simple life-style of the town's people will give visitors a feeling of peace and rest.

Housed in the China Pavilion of the 2010 Shanghai World Expo, China Art Museum features 27 exhibition halls measuring 64,000 square meters in area as well as such facilities as theater, conference hall and library. "Longhua Bells in the Evening" at the Longhua Temple is the only one left over from the original 8 sceneries of Old Shanghai. As one of the popular 8 sceneries in old Shanghai at the turn of 20th century, it can compare favorably with the evening bells at the Hanshan Temple in Suzhou. Whenever at midnight, the wonderful bell sounds heard in tranquility make people feel refined and refresh.
The Longhua Temple literally "Lustre of the Dragon Temple" is a Buddhist Temple dedicated to the Maitreya Buddha in Shanghai. Although most of the present-day buildings date from later reconstructions, the temple preserves the architectural design of a Song Dynasty monastery of the Buddhist Chan sect. It is the largest, most authentic and complete ancient temple complex in the city of Shanghai.

Immediately adjacent to the Oriental Pearl Tower, Shanghai Ocean Aquarium was opened to the public in 2002 and has a total built-in area of 20,500 square meters. The facility contains 9 different thematic zones, boasting a collection of more than 450 species of aquatic animals from far and wide. It’s one of the world’s biggest man-made aquariums with ocean water, and also the world’s only aquarium with a China Zone devoted to the life and ecology of the reaches of the Yangtze River.

Shanghai Science & Technology Museum is a 98,000sqm facility that divides into eleven themed exhibition zones, four hi-tech special theaters, three art corridors that trace the footprints of ancient and modern Chinese and international scientists, two special theme exhibition halls and a few temporary exhibition halls, which together provide a vivid interpretation of “nature, people, science and technology”, educating visitors on how our world functions with interesting interactive activities.
Shanghai Wild Animal Park [Back to Top]
Shanghai Wild Animal Park is China's first state-level wild animal park and was built thanks to a cooperation between Shanghai Municipal People's Government and the State Forestry Administration. It occupies an area of 153 hectares and is about 35 kilometers from the city center. The park was opened to the public on November 18, 1995 and was included in the first batch of national AAAA rated tourist attractions. On May 8, 2007, the National Tourism Administration rated the park as a 5A tourist attraction. The park is home to over 200 types of representative and rare animals from around the world, with over 10,000 animals in total. These include giraffes, zebras, antelopes, and white rhinos, as well as Grade 1 National Key Protected Species such as pandas, golden snub-nosed monkeys, and golden takin. The park can be toured both on foot or by car.
Maglev Train [Back to Top]
Shanghai Maglev Train Line extends for 29.863 kilometers from Longyang Station, Subway Line 2 in the west to Pudong International Airport in the east, making downtown Shanghai and the Pudong airport easily accessible to each other. With the highest speed of 431 kilometers/hour, Maglev is the world’s fastest commercial train service, with one trip taking only 8 minutes. Currently, the service runs from 06:45 to 21:30 at 15-minute intervals. The fare of one-way journey costs RMB 50, and that of a round-trip journey, RMB 80. With ticket or public transport pass, one gets a 20% discount. The fare of a one-way journey in VIP compartment is RMB 100, and that of a round-trip journey in VIP compartment, RMB160.
